Open Access Policy

The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Systems (JAIS) is a fully Open Access scholarly journal published by Flux Academic. All published articles are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication without subscription fees, registration requirements, or access restrictions. The journal believes that unrestricted access to high-quality scientific research accelerates innovation, encourages collaboration, and maximizes the global dissemination and impact of scholarly knowledge.

Readers may access, read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse published articles in accordance with the licensing terms described below.

Open Access Statement

JAIS follows the principles of immediate Open Access, ensuring that all peer-reviewed research is freely accessible upon publication. There are no embargo periods, subscription barriers, or paywalls restricting access to published content.

Copyright

Authors retain full copyright of their published work. Submission and publication in JAIS do not require authors to transfer ownership of copyright to either the Publisher or the Journal.

Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant Flux Academic a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to publish, distribute, archive, index, preserve, and identify the article as the original publisher of record.

Authors remain free to reuse, reproduce, distribute, adapt, and incorporate their own published work into future books, theses, teaching materials, institutional repositories, presentations, and other scholarly works without requesting permission from the Publisher, provided that the original publication in JAIS is properly acknowledged.

Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise stated, all articles published in JAIS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, anyone may:

Author Rights

Self-Archiving Policy

JAIS permits authors to archive all versions of their manuscript, including:

  • Preprint (before peer review).
  • Accepted Author Manuscript (after peer review).
  • Version of Record (published article).

Authors may deposit these versions immediately upon publication in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, departmental webpages, funding agency repositories, and other recognized scholarly archives. Authors are encouraged to include the article DOI and citation to the published Version of Record whenever available.

Repository Deposit

The journal encourages authors to maximize the visibility and long-term preservation of their research by depositing published articles in trusted repositories, including institutional repositories, national repositories, disciplinary archives, and other recognized Open Access platforms.

Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any third-party material included within their manuscripts when such material is not covered by the article's Creative Commons license or applicable copyright exceptions.

Where third-party material is published under different licensing terms, those terms shall prevail for that specific material and will be clearly identified within the article.

Long-Term Preservation

Flux Academic is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of the scholarly record. Published articles are maintained within the journal's publishing platform and may additionally be preserved through recognized digital preservation services, institutional repositories, and archival systems as these become available.

Indexing and Discoverability

JAIS actively supports the widest possible dissemination of published research through metadata distribution, persistent identifiers, indexing services, abstracting databases, library discovery systems, and scholarly search engines. Open Access publishing enhances the visibility, accessibility, and citation potential of published articles.

Compliance with International Open Access Standards
