Author Guidelines

The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Systems (JAIS) welcomes original, high-quality research that advances the theory, development, implementation, and application of artificial intelligence and intelligent systems. The journal publishes contributions from researchers, academics, industry professionals, and practitioners working across the broad spectrum of AI and its interdisciplinary applications.

Authors are encouraged to carefully review these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts. Compliance with these instructions will facilitate an efficient editorial assessment, peer-review process, and production workflow.

Article Types

Originality

Submission to JAIS confirms that the manuscript represents original work that has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration by another journal, conference, or publisher. All authors must approve the submission, and any copyrighted materials included in the manuscript must have the necessary permissions for publication.

Language

All manuscripts must be written in English. Authors may use either American English or British English, provided that one style is followed consistently throughout the manuscript. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to obtain professional language editing before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare manuscripts using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

The manuscript should normally contain the following sections:

Title Page

The title page should include:

Full manuscript title
Full names of all authors
Institutional affiliations
ORCID iD (recommended)
Corresponding author's email address
Postal address of the corresponding author

Abstract

Each manuscript must include an informative abstract of approximately 150–250 words. The abstract should summarize the research background, objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions. References and unexplained abbreviations should not be included.

Keywords

Authors should provide between three and eight keywords immediately after the abstract. Keywords should accurately reflect the content of the manuscript and improve indexing and discoverability.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and cited within the text. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all graphical materials are publication quality and that permission has been obtained for any copyrighted content.

Mathematical Expressions

Mathematical equations should be clearly formatted and numbered where appropriate. Symbols and variables should be defined when first introduced and used consistently throughout the manuscript.

References

Authors should ensure that every in-text citation appears in the reference list and that every reference is cited within the manuscript. References should be accurate, complete, and formatted consistently according to the journal's citation style.

Supplementary Materials

Authors may submit supplementary materials, including datasets, source code, multimedia files, appendices, questionnaires, or additional figures, when these materials improve the transparency, reproducibility, or understanding of the research.

Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make research data publicly available whenever possible. If data sharing is restricted due to ethical, legal, or confidentiality considerations, an appropriate explanation should be provided within the manuscript.

Ethical Approval

Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must include an appropriate ethics statement describing approval from the relevant ethics committee or institutional review board, where applicable.

Funding Information

Authors should disclose all sources of financial support related to the submitted work. If no external funding was received, authors should clearly state that the research received no specific funding.

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation. Where no conflicts exist, authors should declare that they have no competing interests.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system. Authors should carefully review all uploaded files and metadata before completing the submission process.

Peer Review

Every submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment before entering anonymous peer review. Manuscripts considered suitable for publication are evaluated by independent expert reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations, scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Before You Submit

Ensure the manuscript fits the journal's scope.
Confirm that all authors have approved the submission.
Verify that references are complete and accurate.
Ensure all figures and tables are correctly numbered.
