Open Access and Copyright Policy

The International Journal of Computational Intelligence (IJCI), published by Flux Academic, operates as an Open Access journal. Articles accepted for publication are made freely available online upon publication, allowing readers to access the scholarly content without subscription or paywall restrictions.

Open Access

IJCI provides immediate access to its published articles. Readers may read, download, copy, share, search, and otherwise reuse published material subject to the applicable licensing conditions.

There is no subscription barrier or embargo period for access to the journal's published scholarly content.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in their published work. Publication in IJCI does not require authors to transfer copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.

By publishing an article, authors grant Flux Academic the necessary non-exclusive rights to publish, distribute, display, archive, preserve, and identify the work as part of the journal's published scholarly record.

Creative Commons Licensing

Unless otherwise stated for a particular article, IJCI publishes its articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

The CC BY 4.0 license permits users to copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the published material, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate attribution is given.

Users should provide appropriate credit to the author(s), identify the original publication, provide a link to the applicable license, and indicate whether changes were made. The license does not grant permission to imply endorsement by the authors, IJCI, or Flux Academic.

Author Rights

Authors retain broad rights to reuse and share their published work, including the right to:

  • Retain copyright ownership.
  • Share the published article through personal or institutional websites.
  • Deposit the article in appropriate repositories.
  • Use the work for teaching and academic presentations.

Where third-party content is subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions, those conditions remain applicable to that material.

Data, Code, and Supplementary Materials

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to make supporting datasets, source code, algorithms, supplementary files, and other research materials available under suitable reuse conditions. Authors remain responsible for ensuring that sharing such materials complies with applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and licensing requirements.

Digital Preservation

IJCI is committed to maintaining continued access to its published scholarly record. Published articles are retained within the journal's publishing infrastructure, while additional preservation and repository arrangements may be used as appropriate to support long-term accessibility.

Publication and Citation

Open Access does not alter the requirement to properly acknowledge published research. Users reproducing, adapting, or redistributing IJCI content should provide an appropriate scholarly citation and identify the original source.

Policy Review

This policy may be reviewed periodically to ensure that the journal's Open Access, copyright, licensing, and author-rights practices remain appropriate for developments in scholarly communication and responsible publishing. Updates will be published on the journal website when applicable.
